In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and following guidance provided by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and local, county and state officials, the Fort Bend Subsidence District will hold all public meetings and hearings via teleconference until further notice.

On March 16, 2020, Governor Abbott suspended certain open-meeting statutes to allow for the convening of meetings and hearings through electronic means. This temporary suspension allows for telephonic or videoconference meetings of governmental bodies that are accessible to the public. Information on the Governor’s order can be found here: https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-allows-virtual-and-telephonic-open-meetings-to-maintain-government-transparency.

The District office will remain closed indefinitely to the public as we work with local officials to protect the safety of District staff, permittees, and the community. However, District staff are working remotely. We are committed to the timely processing of your permit documentation and will continue to provide excellent customer service during this unprecedented time.

Instructions for remotely participating in District public hearings and meetings can be found on the meetings page of this website.
