The Fort Bend Subsidence District initiated a Joint Regulatory Plan Review in January 2020 in cooperation with the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District to estimate future changes in population and water demand, assess the availability of future alternative water supplies, review and update predictive groundwater and subsidence models, and evaluate planned regulatory requirements on future subsidence rates by analyzing various scenarios. A board workshop will be held on October 10, 2024, at 1:00 pm that will provide an overview of those four main tasks.
