Due to the extreme winter weather in the Houston area, the District recommends well permit holders submit an Application for an Amended Permit (Increase in Allocation) if they suspect they will exceed their groundwater allocation due to increased groundwater use as a result of the recent winter weather. Permit holders who believe they have already surpassed their allocation must contact the District immediately at info@subsidence.org.
The District encourages permit holders to submit an application for an amended permit before they exceed their original groundwater allocation to avoid noncompliance with District Rules. Once an application is submitted, District staff will contact the permit holder to determine the options available to them.
