The Fort Bend Subsidence District, in cooperation with the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District, will host the fourth stakeholder meeting for the Joint Regulatory Plan Review (JRPR) virtually from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8.

The plan review is an important step in assuring that the predictions of future water needs and subsidence are up-to-date and to confirm that the plan ultimately ceases subsidence in Fort Bend County. The District encourages community members and stakeholders to engage in this process. For past meeting information and materials, click here.

The upcoming meeting will include conclusions from the alternative water supply study and a presentation on the population and water demand projection methodology. It will also provide an opportunity to ask questions of the project team.

The District initiated a Joint Regulatory Plan Review in January 2020 in cooperation with the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District to estimate future changes in population and water demand, assess the availability of future alternative water supplies, review and update predictive subsidence models, and evaluate planned regulatory requirements on future subsidence rates. The Joint Review will be complete in 2023 with results of the review to be used as the basis for any future District Regulatory Plan modifications.
